First day of the year and I already have a model painted! The last two nights (yes, even New Years Night) I was able to spend some time finishing up the Destroyer for my Khador Battlegroup:
You might notice that I reversed the red and black areas from my Juggernaut’s paint scheme. I left the metals the same, but I wanted the two ‘jacks to look a little different from each other. As it is possible I will not get any more Khador ‘jacks (how far this not-a-tale-of-gamers challenge will go is still unknown), this is fine. If I do end up getting another, like the Decimator, I will alternate the colours a bit more.
Here are the two ‘jacks side-by-side, ready to crush some Menoth heads:
Yes, Andrew, that’s a challenge.
Anyway, I painted this guy in pretty much the same way as the Juggernaut. I began with German Red Brown Surface Primer by Vallejo. Next I messily painted Thamar Black everywhere that would be black. I did a bit cleaner job next with Skorne Red, followed by Pig Iron for everything that would become either of the metal colours. Next I painted Vallejo’s Glorious Gold on everything that would be come bronze, and finally went back to touch everything up. Some areas needed a lot of touching up, as I got sloppy here and there. Here’s a WIP, with the first three colours down:
To finish it all off I used Baal Red, Devlan Mud and Badab Black washes, painted the sand Cryx Bane Highlight and washed with Devlan Mud. The front 180* of the base edge got Skorne Red.
And voila, a second Khador Warjack complete. Now all they need is a Warcaster to get them going.
Sorscha coming soon.
Thanks for reading.
