Well, not JUST in. Last Tuesday, actually, but I just opened it all up yesterday.
Objective Markers(Warmachine/Dark Age)
So after months of considering picking up this kit up, I finally did. I had to use trees as my objectives in my Dark Age game on Tuesday. Trees! That’s just not right. So I picked these up, with the intention of using them for both Dark Age now, and Warmachine whenever I get back into it. Which may or may not be very soon.
They are neat little bunches of ammo, tools, supplies and ‘jack parts. While they won’t technically look the part of Dark Age, they’ll do their job. A lot better than trees do, that’s for sure.
I’m nearly finished my second cowboy posse, so it’s likely that these will be next in the queue, just in case another game of Dark Age comes up soon.
Copycat Killer (Malifaux)
This is Seamus’ totem, which I received as a belated birthday gift and bribe from Scott (I drive to game nights, he doesn’t) on Tuesday. For the last couple months or so I’ve been thinking about ‘completing’ my Malifaux crews. The Showgirls are already complete, aside from extra Mannequins, as I got them that way. The Ortegas could use the Pistoleros and Perdita’s totem. And Seamus, well, he could use a bunch. But now I’ve got his totem, which is one step in the right direction. And it means I can attempt his unique Scheme, which has something to do with his totem.
I’ve also been considering stripping Seamus’ crew and repainting them, as they were originally done 3 years ago before I was really painting. And now that I’m a much better painter, I think I can get better results now. Whether I do that or not, I will paint this little guy up to my current standards, and hopefully get the others up to date at some point too.
Timeline: Historical Events
So, after my big purchase a few weeks ago I wasn’t supposed to buy any more gaming-related things for a while. But this game just came out and I’m a sucker for cheap purchases and adding to collections. So this game is going to go with my other Timeline games, Discoveries and Inventions. I really like these games, even with their potential for limited replayability. I don’t personally think they’re not replayable, as for one, it is unlikely that after going through an entire set you’ll remember all of the dates you saw; second, with three sets of 110 cards, it is quite likely you’ll forget what you saw the first time around; and third, with 330 cards, it is unlikely you’ll even see those first cards any time soon. It’s not like this game comes out weekly. Well it does, as I like having back-up fillers even when I go minis gaming, but it doesn’t hit the table regularly.
Anyway, that’s it for now. Stay tuned for WIP on the objectives and totem, coming soon.
Thanks for reading.
