So I’ve started working on my Old West cowboys. Here is the first:
Sorry for the cruddy picture. I swear he looks better than this. I don’t have much time this afternoon, and I wanted to get this post up. I’ll take better pictures when I’ve got a few more models finished.
Speaking of which, here are the other Old West figures I’ve got:
They are all Black Scorpion metals (bought a few years ago, before their change to resin), and are Tombstone sets 3 and 4. I also have 4 sets of (non-Fantasy) pirates from them, which I’d like to get painting as well. Like most of my models, I picked these up before I enjoyed painting and so they’ve sat around unpainted all these years.
And now they’re getting some love, both because I want to get some Old West gaming going, and because it’s Movember, and half of these guys have moustaches! The other half have beards or goatees, by the way 🙂
I am going to work on these models one at a time, which so far is helping me focus. Although it’s early, and I’ve only just started the third model this month.
Colours Used
- Skin: Midlund Flesh, Ryn Flesh
- Shirt: Morrow White
- Jacket: Thrall Flesh
- Pants/Hat: Cryx Bane Highlight
- Browns: Bloodstone, Umbral Umber, Gun Corps Brown
- Metals: Pig Iron
- Base: Trollblood Highlight, Rucksack Tan
- All-over-wash: Gryphonne Sepia
I have not painted the edging yet, as I am not sure if I will turn these guys into ‘teams,’ or just paint all the edges the same. Will decide that at a later date.
He’s alright. Probably one of my lower quality paintjobs as of late. But I want to get these guys out within a night or two so they’ll be ready for the tabletop ASAP.
I’ve already started working on the next guy, so I will probably have him finished by tomorrow.
Thanks for reading.
