So finally I got back to work on the Bloody Reaver last night!
Uh boy, things have slowed down here! Late last week my son had a rough night of being real sick, so that night and the next day were hobbyless. The next night I had to go to sleep early because of the lack of sleep the night before, of course. And then the next few nights I got distracted by Bretonnian and Ogre Kingdom blogs and youtube videos, after coming home from game nights. Sheesh.
So after getting back to it, I am now at this point.
I’m going to finish blocking in all these colours, and then get into the details. Then I need to decide: assemble the model then wash, or wash the pieces then assemble?
For reference, so far I’ve used the following colours (I’ll indicate what went where at a later time): Trollblood Highlight, Morrow White, ‘Jack Bone, Beast Hide, Skorne Red, Khador Red Base, Cygnar Blue Highlight, Sanguine Base, Thamar Black, Cryx Bane Base, Iosan Green, and Gnarls Green.
This ship will definitely take a few more days to get finished. I have a pretty good idea of where I am going in terms of more colours to use and which washes will go where. In the end, if I can come out with a ship that looks as good on the tabletop as the Heldenhammer does, I’ll be very happy.
Oh yes, I did also take the time yesterday to prime everything else from the set, on the sprues. I used a grey primer, which hopefully will work out. For a while I used grey primer a lot, but then found brown when I started working on Skaven, and have since gone back and forth between brown and white. Grey should be fine with these ships, I’m sure.
Anyway, back to it!
Thanks for reading.
