So if you play boardgames you’ll most likely know of BoardGameGeek, the quintessential resource for boardgames. I won’t say too much about it, as you should check it out if you haven’t already.
Like many gamers do, I keep track of my game plays on BGG, which you can find here. And, like many gamers, I’m questing to play all of the games on the Top 25 list (as well as Top 10 and Top 50, of course).
Now, I definitely do not agree with the list as it is. And I don’t mean I’m not a fan of the order because I don’t like the games (although that is true in many cases). I mean, there are games, including expansions, that should not be so highly rated. There is definitely an issue with the rating system for this to happen.
However, I don’t care about that part. I’d just like to continue knocking games off my to-play list, regardless of how I feel about them. And I’m not doing such a bad job, either. Late last year I attempted to play as many of the Top 25 as I could. I did manage to get a bunch played, but that quest tapered off, as such quests of mine tend to do (see my Tale of Gamers blog). So this is what it looks like…
My overall standing for the current Top 25 is 22/25. I only need to play Steam, Dominant Species and Le Havre now.
Alternatively, having changed my BGG/general internet username in January 2010 (from VonCougar to mrborges), I had to start over. So in that case, I am actually at 19/25, not having played a few of them since before 2010.
I might be playing Dominant Species next week. It might be a good game, but really I’m playing it to scratch it off the list.
Anyway, there you have it.
